In the selection of grape varieties, we give priority to indigenous varieties, enhancing the most representative grapes of our region. We are committed to rediscovering and revitalising old wine varieties that have lost visibility over time.
Varieties such as Primitivo, Negroamaro and Bianco di Alessano represent the ideal basis for both the creation of monovarietal wines and the elaboration of complex blends, thanks to their innate adaptability and distinctive aromatic profile.
THE LOCATION OF LAND
The privileged location of our vineyards, situated on the gentle hills facing the Ionian Sea, benefits from the constant ventilation provided by the sea breezes, which give our wines unique flavours and aromas. This allows us to state with conviction that the quality of a wine comes first in the vineyard. The role of the winemaker in the cellar is therefore to perfect and complete the expression of the terroir.
As custodians of our winegrowing heritage, we are committed to honouring and preserving the history of each vineyard by faithfully adhering to traditional practices.
At the same time, we are open to exploring new possibilities in winemaking, adopting an innovative approach that can enrich our savoir-faire. An example of this philosophy is the treatment reserved for our Primum, which, after an ageing period of two years in steel silos, concludes with a refinement in oak barrels, acquiring complexity and nuance.
